Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) says it has generated about N59.2B from May 2019 till date.

Executive Chairman of KW-IRS, Mrs Shade Omoniyi stated this at a press conference in Ilorin .

According to her, the highest collections was made in the first quarter of 2021 with N9.5Billion Naira.

She said the feat of the service in the first quarter of 2021 was a great improvement over the N6,227099,973.42 raked in the last quarter of 2020.

Mrs Omoniyi explained that the service has not introduced new taxes since the inception of the present administration .

She noted that the revenues generated would have been much higher but for the Covid-19 lockdown last year which disrupted socio economic activities.
