The Director General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Dr. Aliyu Musa Aliyu Kibiya has urged muslims in the country to intensify prayers during the holy month of Ramadan for lasting peace and mutual coexistence in Nigeria.

Dr. Aliyu made the appeal during an interview with radio Nigeria in Kano.

He pointed out that there’s need for Nigerians to tighten their belts and become more spiritual and dedicate their lives to prayers to ensure that insecurity and other problems bedeviling the country becomes history.

The Director General maintained that peace and stability are one of the catalyst for the development of a nation, as such there was the need to embrace mutual cooperation and understanding to achieve the desired objectives.

Dr. Aliyu Musa decried over the rising cost of commodities during Ramadan, saying that charging exuberant prices for goods is against the teachings of Islam.

He called on philanthropists and wealthy individuals to assist the needy, saying that many cannot afford to feed their families due to the high price of commodities in the market.

The Director General urged worshippers to abide by all laid down protocols of corona virus which includes social distancing, washing of hands and wearing of face masks to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
