A total of one hundred and eight primary health care centres have receives Covid-19 personal protective equipment-PPE in ten local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

In a symbolic presentation, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Ali Inname said the equipment was aimed at protecting health workers against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Commissioner who is also the head of the Covid-19 Task Force said the equipment was procured by Plan International organization in collaboration with the state government in an effort to end the deadly virus in the state.

He stressed that in order to effectively fight the pandemic the health workers must be well equipped to enable them face the danger of being infected.

In his remarks, the National programs manager of the Plan International, Mr. Jumare Abdulazeez said the organization is working in seventy five countries across the globe stressing that in Nigeria the organization is operating in Sokoto, Yobe, Bauchi, Borno and Adamawa States.

Mr. Jumare explained that the purpose of the Organisation is to provide assistance in the health sector especially at the primary health care centres in the targeted States.
