Governor Matawalle Of Zamfara State Receiving COVID-19 Vaccination

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has formally flaged off the vaccination of Astrazeneca injection by receiving his first dose of the vaccine.

The injection was administered by the state Commissioner of Health, Yahaya Mohammed Kanoma while the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Maazu Magarya and the state Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governmor, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Maru were among those who received the first Jab of Astrazeneca Vaccine .

Speaking shortly after receiving the injection, Governor Bello Matawalle urged citizens to accept the Vaccine as physicians have already explained that it doesn’t have any negative effect on human lives.

According to him, a public Enlightenment campaign has already commenced for people to accept the Vaccination, saying 27, 960 people of are expected to be vaccinated in the first circle of the exercise.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Health, Dr Yahaya Mohammed Kanoma said the State had already received 55, 920 doses of the vaccine.

He explained that, the injection was free and government would also ensure total compliance with Covid-19 Presidential Task Force guidelines in administering the Vaccination.

Radio Nigeria reports that the exercise will also be conducted in all the 14 local government areas and the Security formations for effective utilisation.
