From Usman MZ (Jigawa)

Jigawa state government in partnership with the World bank has disbursed over thirty four million naira to more than two thousand girls child under the better education programme in Kafin Hausa local government area of the state.

The Local Government Education Secretary, Mallam Usman Umar stated this during the disbursement exercise in Kafin Hausa.

Mallam Usman Umar said each beneficiaries would receive fifteen thousand naira through conditional cash transfer.

He said the programme had established fifty seven girls centers and forty eight Tsangaya schools in the local government as part of efforts to encourage girl-child acquire formal education.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Kafin Hausa local government council, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi expressed appreciation to the World Bank and Jigawa state government for introducing the programme.
