Former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar retired has called for all hands to be on deck to enhance the much needed peace and development of Nigeria.

The former Head of State made the call when he received former Abia state Governor and Senate Chief Whip Senator Orji Uzo Kalu at his Hilltop residence Minna to commisserate with him over abduction of students of Kagara by armed bandits.

General Abdulsalami Abubakar who described the current security challenges in the country as unfortunate also charged Nigerians to redouble efforts in addressing the ugly trend.

He maintained that there was strength in diversity and expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome it’s woes.

In a remark, former Abia state Governor Senator Orji Uzo Kalu appealed to former heads of state to advice President Muhammadu Buhari on how to get out of the current security challenges.

Senator Orji Uzo Kalu lamented that no place in Nigeria was safe and called for concerted effort by all to succeed.

He however added that the unity of Nigeria was non negotiable.
