Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi RTD

Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi RTD says he is deeply pained by the crash of Nigerian Airforce plane which claimed the lives of seven crew members in Abuja.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Special Assistant to the Minister on media and publicity, Muhammad Abdulkadir.

The Minister who was at the scene of the crash alongside his counterpart in Aviation, Chief of Air Staff and others, described the deaths of the crew members as an unfortunate depletion of national human capital asset.

Major General Bashir Magashi RTD maintained that the death of the officers would never be forgotten in the anals of Nigerian Military gallantry efforts to end national insecurity.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed officers and the fortitude to bear the national calamity.
