A non-governmental Organization, Mercy Corps is adopting a multi dimensional approach strategy in efforts to assist Government address violent extremism and other conflicts across 4 states in Nigeria.

Deputy Chief of the organization, Mallam Sani Suleiman stated this at the three-day ‘Training workshop for 40 selected stakeholders in Kaduna.

According to him, the approaches adopted include sensitization, training of key stakeholders on identifying early warning signals of extremism and use of the media especially the Radio.

Mallam Sani Suleiman who said it was the primary responsibility of parents to correct and observe violence tendencies among their children, urged them to create time for children and relate closely with them.

He maitained that the benefitting states for the programme which was supported by the United States Agency for International Development were Kaduna, Kogi, Plateau, Benue and Kano states.

Participants Abigail James and Isah Sani who lamented that moral values were fast depreciating in our society pledged to Cascade the training down to the grassroot communities.
