Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has urged Social Media handlers in the state to avoid promoting Fake News.

He made the call at the Government House Council Chamber, Gusau.

Governor Matawalle said there was need for handlers of Social Media to stop promoting Fake News on their news feeds as it could cause serious damage to the state and the country.

He said most of the people using social media especially youths, needed to use it positively to promote peace and unity among the people of the state.

The Governor expressed dismay that Social Media was used by some unpatriotic citizens to promote disunity and advised them to rather use it to promote peace and economic prosperity.
