Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi during the distribution of relief funds to rainstorm victims in Ilorin,-by ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urged residents of the state to put in place proactive measures to prevent the negative effects of natural disaster on their lives and properties.

Governor AbdulRazaq stated this at the official flag-off of the distribution of relief materials for Two Thousand, Three Hundred victims of a rainstorm in Ilorin.

Represented by his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, Governor AbdulRazaq, explained that such proactive measures include tree planting, clearing of drainages among others.

He assured that his administration will never abandon Kwarans in time of need.

In her remark, the Chairperson of the committee, Hajia Habibat Yusuf said the exercise was the final phase of the government’s financial assistance to victims of the rainstorm in Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and some parts in Asa Local Government areas of the state.
