Zamfara Police Command has directed the Special Constabulary Personnel to stop wearing uniform as they are Police informants.

CP Abutu Yaro who gave the directive during a tour to Police Divisional Stations at Bungudu and Tsafe Local Government Areas, said the Constabulary police has only one duty to perform which is intelligence gathering.

Mr. Abutu who vowed to motivate the Special Constabulary Police, charged all Divisional Police Officers to repost all the constabularies back to their villages to monitor and observe their respective areas for proper intelligence gathering.

He, however charged other regular police and the special constabularies to respect the precautionary measures on COVID-19, noting that, facemask is now part of the Police Uniform, adding that dressing without the facemask is in complete and it shall attract sanction.

Meanwhile, CP Abutu Yaro has warned them against any form of extortion in the course of their duties.

In a Remark, Emir of Tsafe Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Bawa, vowed to support the Police in a bid to discharge his mandate effectively, saying the State needs proactive measures and willingness from security agencies to restore peace and normalcy.

Sole administrator of Tsafe Local Government, Aminu Mudi said, all the bandits in the area were indigenous, noting that, the insecurity escalated as a result of injustice and encroachment into Fulani grazing reserves, cattle paths as well as extortion on Fulani by traditional rulers and other officials.

He therefore vowed to revoke any land allocation in the Fulani Cattle paths and grazing areas.
