Director General of NAFDAC, Professor Moji Adeyeye

National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control-NAFDAC, says it has not yet approved any COVID-19 Vaccine for use in the country.

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye stated this at a virtual press briefing on the infiltration of non-approved vaccines on sale on various social media platforms.

She advised Nigerians to be wary of those selling the “fake” products as the country was still expecting the Pfizer-made COVID-19 Vaccines which will pass validation before been administered to Nigerians.

The NAFDAC DG also warned Government and private establishments against purchasing any COVID-19 Vaccine without receiving clearance from the regulatory body.

Professor Adeyeye assured that the Agency will deploy it’s Phase 4 Pharmaco-vegelance to monitor any adverse effect on Nigerians when approved for use.

The NAFDAC boss noted that the Agency after due validation of the Pfizer COVID-19 product will in collaboration with her sister agencies use a holistic approach for  effective delivery of the vaccines across the country.
