The Iyan Zazzau and former District head of Sabon Gari in Zazzau emirate, Alhaji Bashar Aminu is dead.

His passing on was announced by the Zazzau Emirate on their Twitter handle on Friday.

Bashar Aminu died of a brief illness in Lagos at the age of 70.

He was the son of the late Emir of Zazzau, Muhammadu Aminu and the front line contender for the Zazzau emirate throne after the passing of the late Emir Dr Shehu Idris last year.

The deceased is survived by 31 children and many grandchildren.
