The trial of Sheik Ibrahim El Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat for unlawful assembly and other offences has been adjourned to 25th and 26th of January, 2021.

This followed the cross examination of four witnesses called by the prosecution at the resumed hearing today.

Addressing newsmen, Counsel to the defendants, Mr Femi Falana SAN affirmed that the witnesses included a director in the State Security Services and three neighbours of his clients.

He said the court also granted his application for leave to permit the defendants to be present in court as it is their constitutional right.

Mr Femi Falana urged the Nigeria Union of Journalist to take necessary step at ensuring their presence in the court room.

Attempt to speak to the prosecution was unsuccessful as they declined to make comment to the press.
