Suspected armed bandits have on Saturday night invaded 2 houses at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Staff quarters kidnapping 3 person and other sustained gun shots on his hand.

Confirming the incident in a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Zaria, the Rector, Dr. Kabiru Abdullahi said the bandits arrived the college at about 9pm Saturday night.

“I was in kaduna, when the Chief Security Officer of the college called me and informed me on the attack.

“It is true that suspected armed bandits have kidnapped one of my staff, Engineer,Bello Atiku who is the Head of Department, Computer Engineering of the college.

“He was also kidnapped along with two children to an unknown destination.”The Rector disclosed.

Dr. Kabiru Abdullahi also confirmed that one of the staff, Sunusi Hassan who narrowly escaped with gun shot on his hand by the bandits was rushed to hospital for medical attention.

He attributed the incident to porous nature of the school thereby esposing the Polytechnic community to unforeseen danger.

Engineer Kabiru noted that despite vast land and abundant forest, the Polytechnic was still unfenced, a situation that exposed occupants of the college in a great danger.

He however appealed to the college community to remain calm as security operatives were on top of the situation.

This incident is coming on the heel of students resumption to the school after a long break necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
