CAF: Zamalek vs Al Ahly in All Egyptian Final

Written by Godwin Duru

Zamalek of Egypt defeated Raja Casanblanca of Morocca 3-1 in a second leg semi-final tie.

They had won the first leg tie by a lone goal to progress to the finals of the CAF champions league on a 4-1 aggregate win

Zamalek of Egypt now face fierce rival Al Ahly in an all-Egyptian final.

Al Ahly defeated Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on a 5-1 aggregate to reach their 13th CAF Champions League Final

The final will be played on 27 November at the Borg Al Arab Stadium near Alexandria and will be the competition’s first title decider between clubs from the same country.

Al Ahly will be bidding for a record extending ninth title while Zamalek are aiming for a sixth one.

This will be the first year that the final will not be played over two legs, a decision taken in June last year before the global Covid-19 pandemic.
