Some concerned neighbours have sued a guardian to Magistrate Court Barnawa Kaduna for assaulting a thirteen year old house help, Miss Abigail Solomon.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the recent maltreatment of the teenage girl caused dislocation within her knee region.
When the case was mentioned at the court, the accused Mr and Mrs Laba and Faith Kuje failed to appear.
The defense counsel, Barrister Yusuf Abbas however argued that the applicants had no locus standi to sue as non of them was related to the child.
In a counter reply, Counsel to the applicants Barrister Gloria Ballason quoted the neighborhood principle and cited the case of Gani Fawehinmi versus Akilu which gives right for the neighborhood action.
In a ruling, Magistrate Shamsudeen Ja’afaru issued a bench warrant against the first defendant Mr. Laba Kuje and adjourned the case to 23rd of this month.
