Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya has approved the reopening of all the state owned and private tertiary institutions for resumption of academic activities on the 10th November.

The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Mr Meshack Lauco who announced this while briefing newsmen in Gombe said the decision followed the review of the COVID-19 situation in the State.

He, however warned that all the schools must comply with the COVID-19 protocols to safeguard the lives of both the staff and students.

Mr Meshack Lauco urged the affected schools to request the Ministry of Environment for decontamination and fumigation of their facilities.

He warned that the Ministry of Higher Education would ensure effective supervision of compliance by the institutions directive.

Gombe State Government directed for the closure of all tertiary institutions in the State in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
