Senate President, Ahmed Lawan

President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan has appealed to the youths who are protesting to end it since it has already yielded the desired results.

He made the call after a close door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila at the state House, Abuja.

Ahmed Lawan explained that First of all, they said ‘end SARS’, that was the beginning and SARS was scrapped, not by the IGP, but SARS was scrapped by the President himself.

The Senate President who thanked Mr President for exhibiting his very deep democratic credentials in handling the protest, mentioned that the protests had gone on for over 10 days, across many states of the country.

He pointed out that protesters have expressed their legitimate rights, and the essence of coming to meet Mr President was to review the situation and see the roles the two arms of government should play in ensuring that the five-point demands of the protesters were properly addressed.
