Chairman, Northern Governor’s Forum, Simon Lalong

Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, says Borno and Niger States have expressed reservations about the outright disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad-SARS.

In a chat with State House correspondents, after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Lalong said those States believed the police unit had been useful in the fight against insecurity in the region.

According to him, SARS is not made up of bad elements alone as it also include personnel who are doing their work diligently.

Lalong said what is needed is the reformation of the unit to enable it to discharge its functions optimally.
