President Muhammadu Buhari has held a meeting with the Inspector General of Police-IG, Mohammed Adamu.

This is coming on the heels of protests over alleged brutalilty and excessive activities of police special tactical unit, Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad- FSARS.

President Muhammadu Buhari instructed the IG to check the excesses of the personnel and bring erring ones to justice.

He observed that majority of men and women of the Nigeria Police Force were patriotic and committed to protecting the lives of Nigerians.

President Buhari reiterated that government would continue to support them to do their job.

He however appealed for patience and calm, even as Nigerians freely exercise their right to peacefully make their views known.
