President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended for graciously approving incentive for teachers in Nigeria to enhance their productivity.

They include special salary scale extension of service year and retirement age among others.

The commendation is contained in a communique jointly signed by Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers-NUT Niger state, Comrade Ibrahim Umar and Principal Assistant Secretary General, Comrade Labaran Garba at the end of it’s Emergency State Wing Executive Council meeting in Minna.

It also appeals to Governnor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state to as a matter of urgency follow suit by extending and implementing same gesture to teachers in Niger state.

The communique also commends unwavering efforts of Niger state government on measures taken towards ensuring a successful reopening of schools and stresses need to expedite action in ensuring that all necessary equipments are provided to guarantee safety reopening.

State Working Executive Committee, in session also condemns in strong terms unverified information credited to Chairman Niger state Civil Servants Salary Screening committee that eighty percent of staff of state ministry of Education have fake certificate.

It calls on Chairman of the committee to retract such uncomplimentary statement and follow due process in discharging his assignments.

The communique also urges Niger State Universal Basic Education Board to refund the two months seven point five percent pension deducted from affected primary school teachers without further delay.
