Jigawa state government has expressed concern over the increasing number of communities affected by flood, windstorm and building collapse in the state.

Governor Badaru Abubakar stated this during the disbursement of economic empowerment materials in Gumel local government area of the state.

He explained that recent report has shown that about twenty people lost their lives while properties worth millions of naira were destroyed rendering a number of families homeless as a result of the disaster.

Badaru pointed out that, already the state government delegation had been dispatched to sympathize with the victims and offer emergency assistance.

He urged the victims to consider the disaster as act of God.

He added that the state government is studying ways of coming to their aid soon.
