Gubernatorial Candidate promises inclusiveness when given mandate

Gubernatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Kaduna State has assured total inclusiveness, equity, justice, economic progress and social development of the people when given the mandate comes the 2023 general election.

The candidate Alhaji Isa Mohammed Ashiru stated this while unveiling his five point Agenda at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Center in Kaduna.

Alhaji Isa Mohammed Ashiru listed his proposed five-point agenda to include Security, Agriculture and Rural Transformation, Women and Youth Empowerment, Education, Science and Technology, Health and social welfare.

Talking on the agendas, the Gubernatorial hopeful re-emphasized the responsibility of the government to provide security for its citizenry as enshrined by the constitution hence the need for government at all levels to do its utmost in tackling the problem.

‘if elected, our government will improve and energize the state security outfit, set security committees at the ward level, establish an active state wide vigilante outfit with support and supervision of the security agencies ‘,he said.

Alhaji Isa Mohammed Ashiru said his government within the first one hundred days in office when elected, would deploy the expertise of retired Military Generals, Police Chiefs, Religious and Traditional Leaders to holistically proffer lasting solutions to the problem of security in the state.

we will increase our support and cooperation to security agencies in the state and also strengthen interfaith mediation organisations while the traditional institutions will be coopted into areas of peace maintenance, alternative dispute resolutions, community campaigns and sensitization among others ‘,he added

On the issue of Agricultural transformation, the gubernatorial hopeful also stressed that his administration would increase productivity in the sector and create more jobs for the teaming youths in the state.

we shall resuscitate and strengthen the functional capacity of Kaduna agricultural development project with relavant agencies and we shall also make cooperatives key cornastone in our Agriculture policy ‘,he further explained.

He also re-emphasized that at the state and the local government levels, fertilizer procurement and distribution would be done at subsidized rates, adding that practical steps will be taken to improve modern farming through mechanization.

In the area of Education, Alhaji Isa Mohammed Ashiru reiterated that education was the backbone of any nation thereby assuring a downward review of high school fees in some of the institutions in the state.

special attention will be placed on science and technology in secondary and tertiary institutions while community participation in agriculture will be encouraged’, he said.

The candidate while also speaking on health and women empowerment as his agendas explained that his government would also give attention to both Primary and Secondary Health Care of its people and ensure adequate support to reduce poverty among women and youths respectively.

The gubernatorial hopeful lamented the high indebtedness the state was facing as a result of the loan taken to build infrastructure but promised to harness untapped mineral resources and other sources of revenues within the state to improve its internally generated revenue.

In her remark, Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Kaduna State council , Hajiya Asma’u Halilu said the council was providing the candidates the needed platform to declare their mandates as part of it’s responsibilities of watch dogs of the society.

The gubernatorial candidate came along side his running mate Dr John Markus Ayuba and the PDP state party stakeholders with thier campaign team.
