Bye-Election: Police Restricts Movement In Zamfara State

Nigeria Police Force has declared restriction of movement between 12am to 6pm of Saturday for Bakura state constituency bye election.

This is contained in a Press Release signed and and made available to Radio Nigeria by the command’s image maker SP Shehu Muhammad.

He explained that, both vehicular and pedestrians movements are hereby restricted with the exception of those on election duties and essential services.

He noted that, Commissioner of Police Zamfara Command, Usman Nagogo who made the declaration while briefing Senior Police Officers led by Commissioner of Police Kano Command, CP Habu A. Sani who were sent by the Force Headquarters to oversea the bye election in Bakura Local Government Area slated for 5th December, 2020.

The statement said, the command has deployed 2,300 police personnel and other security agents to cover and provide security at the 114 polling units and 9 voting point, he however warned that, no security aide is allowed to escort their principals to the polling units or any movement while the election is going on, saying defaulters will be arrested and will face full wrath of the law.

CP Habu A. Sani has since assume duty and vowed to ensure peaceful and credible state Assembly bye election.
