The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Engr. Sani Mohammed Ndanusa as a non-career Ambassador/High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, presented by its Chairman, Senator Bello Sani Abubakar, during today’s plenary.

Presenting the report, Senator Bello Sani Abubakar said the committee conducted the necessary checks on Ndanusa’s background, qualifications and experience and found him suitable for the appointment.

He expressed optimism that Ndanusa’s appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic relations with the country to which he would be posted.

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, subsequently put the nomination to a voice vote, and the senators overwhelmingly supported his confirmation.
