Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in collaboration with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, has distributed 11 laptop computers to Zonal Directors to strengthen administrative efficiency and support girls’ education.

The Executive Chairman of Kano SUBEB, Malam Yusuf Kabir, stated this during the distribution exercise in Kano.

Represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) and AGILE Coordinator, Malam Mujitapha Aminu, he explained that the initiative was aimed at ensuring that girls enrol in school, remain in education and complete their studies from primary to tertiary level.

He disclosed that computers had also been provided to the Ministry of Education and its agencies to enhance programme implementation, urging the beneficiaries to use the equipment strictly for official purposes.

Malam Mujitapha revealed that 2,500 computers had already been distributed to schools, with solar power systems installed in beneficiary schools to ensure a reliable electricity supply.

He announced that another 2,500 computers would soon be distributed to further strengthen digital learning and school administration.

The AGILE Coordinator also disclosed that the project had constructed 24 new schools for girls and renovated 270 existing schools to provide safer and more conducive learning environments.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Zonal Directors’ Forum, Malam Musa Sulaiman Gaya, commended the Executive Chairman for the gesture, noting that the computers would improve their daily administrative activities.

He assured the Board that the beneficiaries would use the equipment responsibly and strictly for its intended purpose.
