Communities along the Ikara-Saya-Saya-Pala-Gadas-Anchau Road in Kaduna State have commended Governor Uba Sani for constructing the 57-kilometre road.

The residents said the project would boost socio-economic activities and ease the movement of agricultural produce to markets.

The Head of Bunsura in Pala District, Malam Salisu Shuaibu, said residents had faced serious transportation challenges, particularly during the rainy season, before construction of the road.

Another resident, Malam Yakubu Idris, expressed satisfaction with the project, which connects Anchau, Falla, Gadas, Saya-Saya and Ikara.

A resident of Tudun Wada, Dankade, in Kano State, Malam Awalu Salisu, said the road had reduced his journey time from about one hour to 15 minutes.

He congratulated Governor Uba Sani for executing the project, which he said had ended years of hardship faced by road users.

Another resident, Malam Ibrahim Sa’ad, said he had used the road for more than 10 years without seeing any reconstruction.

He described the project as a lasting legacy for communities in Ikara and neighbouring areas of Kano State.

The 57-kilometre road links seven agrarian communities and is being constructed through a partnership between the Kaduna State Government and the World Bank under the Kaduna State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, KDRAMP.
