Jigawa State Government has expressed regret over the passing of the Emir of Gumel, His Highness Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani, who died at the age of 84.

In a statement issued to newsmen by the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, the revered monarch passed away this afternoon in Cairo, Egypt, after a protracted illness.

He explained that throughout his remarkable 46-year reign, the late Emir Ahmed Muhammad Sani, who ascended the throne in 1980, dedicated his life to the service and betterment of his people.

The 16th Emir of Gumel was a beacon of wisdom, offering invaluable counsel and tirelessly working to improve health outcomes, increase school enrolment, and foster peace and security across the state.

Malam Bala Ibrahim said the late Emir’s legacy of commitment to progress and community welfare would be deeply missed.

The Jigawa State Government extended its deepest condolences to the royal family, the people of Gumel Emirate, the State Council of Chiefs, and all citizens of Jigawa State during this period of immense grief.

He said details of the funeral arrangements would be announced by the Emir’s palace and communicated to the public in due course.

Malam Bala Ibrahim prayed to Allah SWT to forgive the late Emir’s sins, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
