Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Kaduna State Chapter, has appealed to governments, philanthropists, Islamic scholars and other well-meaning Nigerians to support the construction of its proposed Secretariat and Islamic Centre in Kaduna.

The appeal was made during a fundraising ceremony organised to mobilise resources for the project.

The Amirah of FOMWAN Kaduna State Chapter, Hajiya Nafisa Musa Isa, said despite the organisation’s years of contributions to societal development, it was yet to have a befitting secretariat.

She explained that the proposed facility would provide a suitable environment for FOMWAN executives, affiliates and the wider society to hold meetings and provide guidance, counselling and other developmental services.

Hajiya Nafisa urged individuals and organisations to support the initiative towards its successful completion.

Speaking at the event, renowned Islamic scholar, Malam Adam Muhammad Tukur Almanar, called on wealthy individuals and Muslims to use their resources in the service of Allah and support those in need.

He said acts of generosity and kindness attract rewards in this world and ultimately, Aljannatul Firdaus in the hereafter.

A representative of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, said the National Assembly leadership was pleased with the initiative and would support efforts towards its realisation.

Similarly, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamalli, described the project as commendable and prayed for its successful completion, while expressing optimism that FOMWAN would expand its developmental programmes.

The Chairman of the occasion, former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Dr. Ramalan Yero, pledged continued support to FOMWAN and commended its leadership for promoting development and unity.

The National Amirah, Dr. Sumayya Fatima Hamza, also described the Kaduna chapter as a pace-setter, saying the proposed centre would strengthen collaboration and partnership among members, affiliates and stakeholders.
