The Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu has deployed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone seven, Victor Olaiya to Niger state to coordinate the rescue operation of worshippers recently abducted by bandits in Borgu Local Government Area.

The operation will be conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, to ensure that the victims were rescued unhurt.

Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger state, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman who stated this while addressing Newsmen in an interactive session in Minna, thanked the Niger state Government for providing them with necessary support needed to succeed.

Represented by the Police Public Relations Officer Niger state Command, Superintendent of Police Wasi’u Abiodun, CP Adamu Elleman explained that the real rescue operation of abducted victims begins today in strict compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu.

According to the Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger state, they are currently analysing their intelligence and strategy for a hitch free rescue mission to be assisted by among other things such as the counter terrorism unit and the EOD, provided by the Inspector General of Police to aid their work, for effective service delivery.

In his remarks, Niger State Commissioner Homeland Security Mr Maurice Bello Magaji, said the state Government under the leadership of Governor, Umar Bago, will continue to provide security agencies with all the necessary support needed to nip in the bud cases of security challenges bedeviling it’s people, while insisting that no matter how devil will last, good will definitely overcome it.

Mr Maurice Magaji however called for collective efforts by all and sundry in the fight against insecurity in parts of Niger State, stressing that peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.
