Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commissioned 10 kilometres of newly completed roads in Sumaila and Wudil Local Government Areas.
The projects, comprising five kilometres each in Sumaila and Wudil, are designed to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of people, agricultural produce and goods between rural communities and major commercial centres.
Governor Yusuf said the roads were constructed to address critical infrastructure needs at the grassroots and promote socio-economic development.
He pointed that the streetlights installed along the roads would enhance security and provide safer movement for residents, traders and other road users at night.
The Governor urged residents to protect and maintain the roads and streetlights to ensure that the projects continue to provide maximum benefits.
He noted that improved connectivity would also enable traders, small businesses and other economic activities to operate for longer hours.
Residents and community leaders in Sumaila and Wudil expressed appreciation to the Governor, describing the projects as important interventions that would improve transportation, strengthen security and stimulate economic activities in their communities.
