Residents of Kwara have been urged to shun all acts capable of truncating the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state.
National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union(IEDPU) ,Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman made the call while speaking with newsmen on the position of the Emirate on wearing of Hijab in Pubic schools at a press conference in Ilorin.
According to him the friction generated over the use of Hijab in public schools was unnecessary.
He said any school pupil who wishes to use the hijab on their uniforms in accordance with the constitutional provisions should not be denied.
Alhaji Uthman appealed to all stakeholders to exercise restrain on the issue in the interest of peace and development .
He commended the state government for adopting the use of dialogue in resolving the matter and called for investigation and Punishment for those who destroyed public properties and places of worship to serve as detterent to others.
Alhaji Uthman however commended security agencies for ensuring peace and security in the state.
