The Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee for the reception of Governor Dauda Lawal into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Lawal M. Liman Gabdon Kaura, has called on residents to maintain peace and order ahead of the official event scheduled for today Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

He made the call during a news briefing in Gusau, described the event as a defining moment in the state’s political history.

Dr Lawal Liman said the governor’s reception into the party will be performed by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, which would mark a significant political milestone and renewed hope for peace, security, and inclusive development in Zamfara State.

He noted that the briefing was aimed at formally informing the public about the event, which he described as more than a political gathering but a movement driven by commitment to the well-being of the people.

He recalled that Zamfara has faced persistent security challenges for over a decade, with many communities affected and economic activities disrupted.

However, he expressed confidence that the governor’s decision to join the APC would strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government in addressing insecurity and other socio-economic issues.

According to him, Governor Lawal remains committed to restoring peace and stability through intelligence-driven strategies, improved technology, and stronger cooperation with security agencies.

The committee chairman also emphasized the importance of unity among political leaders in the state, noting that the governor’s alignment with key stakeholders signals a collective resolve to tackle insecurity and promote development.

He urged all invited guests, particularly youths from across the 14 local government areas, to conduct themselves responsibly during the event.

Lawal Gabdon Kaura reiterated the governor’s directive that no one should attend the venue with weapons, including knives or sticks, warning that such actions would not be tolerated.

He added that the administration is prioritizing youth development as part of efforts to promote discipline, peace, and productive engagement in society.

The committee further called on the media to continue to inform and educate the public responsibly, while urging citizens to participate peacefully and constructively.

Kaura stressed that the event represents the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s history.

“A new chapter is about to begin—one where security is prioritized, governance is responsive, and the future is assured,” he said.
