The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has concluded arrangements to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal and his deputy following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
The APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, disclosed this during a meeting of party executives and stakeholders held in Gusau.
He said the defecting governor and his deputy would be officially received by Vice President Kashim Shettima alongside the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, during a ceremony scheduled to take place in the state on Tuesday in Gusau.
Alhaji Danfulani further directed all APC local government chairmen and their executives to convene similar meetings at their respective levels to sensitise supporters on the development.
He also urged party supporters to remain calm, loyal, law-abiding, and to demonstrate unity and brotherhood throughout the reception ceremony.
