Personnel of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service KADVS have been urged to apply the knowledge gained during a six-day capacity-building training aimed at strengthening professionalism and community security operations in the state.

The Commandant of KADVS, CP Ali Audu Dabigi Rtd, gave the advice at the closing ceremony of the training in Kaduna.

CP Dabigi described the training as a fulfilled commitment that had significantly enhanced the operational and intellectual capacity of personnel drawn from various command sections of the service.

According to him, the knowledge acquired will improve positive policing and strengthen collaboration between KADVS personnel and communities across the state.

Also speaking, the Assistant Commander in charge of Administration, Zailani A.J. Musa, noted that the training broadened the participants’ understanding of their responsibilities and exposed them to proper procedures for handling cases in line with the laws guiding their operations.

Some participants interviewed, including Sule Muhammad Kure, Philomina Peter and Ruth Jonathan, commended the organisers for the initiative.

They said the training had equipped them with the skills needed to carry out their duties more effectively while working closely with other security agencies in their communities.

About 300 KADVS personnel benefited from the training, which forms part of efforts to strengthen community security initiatives under the Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria programme supported by the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

The programme was organised by The Kukah Centre in collaboration with Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs among others.
