Women in Mechanized Agriculture (WIMA) Nigeria marked International Women’s Day with an Agri-Mech Fair, highlighting the strength, innovation, and impact of women in mechanized agriculture and agri-food business.

The event, held at the WIMA Mega Hub, Old Toll Gate, Dankande, Zaria, Kaduna, on Saturday, 14th March 2026, brought together dignitaries, stakeholders, and women farmers to promote inclusive agricultural mechanization.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hajia Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, delivered a speech highlighting this year’s Women’s Day theme, “Give To Gain”, emphasizing the importance of empowering women in agriculture.

The event featured keynote addresses, goodwill messages, machinery exhibitions, and networking sessions. The Emir of Zazzau, represented by Wakilin Gonan Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim A. Bamalli, Madakin Gonan Zazzau, officially opened the event. Other dignitaries included Hon. Commissioner of Youth Development, Hon. Barr. Ibrahim Gloria, and Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture, Alhaji Murtala Dabo.

WIMA National Coordinator, Malama Hadiza Umar Abubakar, welcomed guests, while WIMA President Hajia Aisha Yakubu highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering women farmers.

The event showcased innovative agricultural machinery and technologies, with representatives from partner organizations, including Propcom+ , NAERLS, Tractrac, and National Sugar Development Council, participating.
