The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Comrade Adamu Ango, who passed away last Thursday in Abuja at the age of 61.

Until his death, Comrade Ango served as the Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in Kaduna State before rising to become the Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Kaduna State Council.

In recognition of his dedication and service to the labour movement, he was later promoted to the position of Deputy General Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Teachers and was subsequently posted to the union’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

The funeral prayer for the late Comrade Ango took place last Friday at his residence in NITEL Quarters, Kaduna.

He is survived by his aged mother, wife, and children. May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria Kaduna, an NLC veteran and former staff of FRCN Kaduna, Comrade Rose Nkom Katung, described the death of Comrade Ango as a great shock, not only to his family but to the entire labour community.

Comrade Katung, who worked closely with the late Ango, described him as a committed and dedicated leader who served the labour movement and his people with passion until his last breath.
