Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the immediate payment of February salaries and pensions to civil servants and retirees across the state, ahead of the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.

Governor Lawal directed the State Accountant-General to ensure the prompt release of funds, enabling workers and pensioners to adequately prepare for and comfortably observe the sacred period.

Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, said in a statement that the gesture underscored the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and social responsibility.

Governor Lawal urged civil servants, pensioners, and the entire Muslim Ummah in the state to use the Ramadan period to offer fervent prayers for lasting peace, unity, and stability in Zamfara, the statement said.

He emphasised the importance of sustained prayers toward overcoming the state’s security challenges, as well as for continued economic growth and overall development.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to prioritising the welfare of workers and retirees while pursuing policies that promote the collective progress of the state.

He also wished Muslims in Zamfara and beyond a peaceful, blessed, and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan.
