The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has expressed deep sympathy to the Government and people of Kano State following the tragic fire outbreak at Singer Market, which reportedly claimed lives and destroyed properties and goods valued at billions of naira.

In a statement signed by its Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr.) Abubakar Gambo Umar, the Foundation said it shares in the grief of affected families, traders, and all those whose means of livelihood were disrupted by the devastating incident.

The Foundation commended the swift response and leadership of the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, as well as the tireless efforts of emergency responders who worked under challenging circumstances to manage the crisis and contain further damage.

While extending heartfelt condolences, the Foundation stressed the urgent need to strengthen preventive and emergency response measures across markets and other public spaces.

It called for regular safety inspections, installation of functional firefighting and fire detection systems, development of rapid-response protocols, and improved market layouts to ensure unobstructed access for emergency services.

The statement further offered prayers for comfort for the bereaved families, speedy recovery for those injured or affected, and the full restoration of livelihoods for traders who suffered losses.

The Foundation reaffirmed its solidarity with the Government and people of Kano State during this difficult period, pledging continued prayers and support for all those impacted by the tragedy.
