Journalists in Jigawa State have received their first jab of Covid-19 vaccination.

This followed the state Governor’s directives that all Stakeholders in the fight against Covid-19 would be vacinated in the first round of the immunization.

It could be recalled that Radio Nigeria reports that Governor Badaru Abubakar along his Deputy and members of executive council have received first dose of AstraZeneca.

The Governor however pointed out that the vaccine would be administered to front line workers include healthcare staff, religious and traditional leaders, security personnel and journalists.

He said Jigawa State Government received 68,520 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, to be administered on 35,000 people which was only 1% of the state population.

Speaking after receiving the vaccination, chairman of the the state Correspondent’s chapel comrade Ahmed Abubakar explained that the COVID vaccine was free and safe for all.

Ahmed Abubakar added that Journalists were vacinated for being active in the fight against the pandemic.
