A total of one hundred and eleven students of the Federal University of Technology FUT Minna are to be conferred with first class degrees at the thirty fourth convocation Ceremonies and forty third Founders Day celebrations for twenty twenty four, twenty five academic session.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta stated this while addressing Newsmen on activities lined up for the event, held at the main campus Gidan kwano, Minna, Niger state.

Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta explained that of the five thousand two hundred and ninety seven graduating students four thousand four hundred and thirty eight graduates will receive first degrees, seventy three post graduate diplomas, six hundred and thirty three to be conferred with masters degree, and one hundred and fifty three doctorate degrees.

According to him in the twenty twenty six Times Higher Education(THE) World University Rankings FUT Minna was ranked seventh best university in Nigeria and emerged as the highest ranked specialized university in Nigeria, and other aspect of research, stressing that they will continue to remain steadfast in its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, integrity and community service.

Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta while expressing his desire to transform the university to a world class, in addition to the provision of decent accomodations for students, transportation and improved welfare package for staff, the migrating of Federal Universities to Band A by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC has caused a lot of problems for them as FUT Minna paid eighty million naira monthly to settle the AEDC, which he described as huge.

The Vice Chancellor FUT Minna also announced the successful establishment of the College of Medical Sciences and Health Technology, following full approval by the National Universities Commission, NUC while the pioneer students commenced academic activities in year twenty twenty five, twenty six session.

The convocation ceremony comes up this Sunday, February the first, which coincide with its Founders Day, a moment to honour the visionaries who laid the foundation of the institution and to celebrate excellence through prize awards and degree conferment.
