The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Host Communities and Member Representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency, Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed Mai Kero, says he will execute a multimillion-naira internal road network for Badikko, the host community of the Kaduna State seat of power, the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Sharifudeen Ibrahim Muhammad, Hussaini Mai Kero said that constructing internal roads for the home of the Kaduna Government House is part of the fulfillment of his electioneering campaign promises.

According to him, executing road projects for Badikko, being the host community of Governor Uba Sani, and considering the great role they played in his emergence as Member Representing Kaduna South during the 2023 general elections, became necessary.

The internal road projects, which will cost multimillion naira, will be executed this year.

He listed the roads to be constructed to include Afamu Road, from Badikko L.E.A. linking to Mamman Dawai, to SA’AP Crescent/Close, down to Shehu Idris, linking Gwamna Road. Other road projects to be executed include Gindin Mangoro, linking Defence Avenue at Kurmin Mashi, Kaduna.

Reacting to the development, a community-based group, the Badikko Reformers Group (BRG), said the people of Badikko have been yearning for these projects since the return of democracy in 1999.

BRG added that over ten thousand vehicles and motorbikes ply the internal roads daily, as they link Kurmin Mashi to Unguwan Sanusi, Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari, and also serve as a link to those going to Old Panteka from Mahuta and Hayin Danmani.

The group added that the dust raised from the roads has become a source of concern, as it poses health threats to asthmatic patients, nursing mothers, women, and children.

While expressing its gratitude to Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed Mai Kero for answering the age-long yearnings of the Badikko community, the group appealed to the Reps member to ensure quality work is done, noting that Badikko is a heavy water channel which requires concrete drainage in order to address annual flooding.

The Badikko Reformers Group assures Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed Mai Kero of its maximum support and cooperation toward the successful execution of the projects.

Badikko Community is the host of the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna; the 44 Army Reference Hospital; and Kaduna Polytechnic.
