The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Waidi Shaibu has charged frontline troops to remain focused in the discharge of their operational duties.
He gave the charge at a luncheon organised for troops in commemoration of this year’s Christmas celebration.

Lt General Waidi Shaibu stressed the need for vigilance, especially during the yuletide season and beyond.
Represented by Major General Isa Abdullahi, the Army Chief noted that Christmas is a period of reflection and thanksgiving, which embodies love, sacrifice, compassion and unity.

He commended personnel serving in various theaters for their commitment and sacrifices to ensure the safety of the nation.
Lt General Waidi Shaibu urged personnel to welcome the new year with renewed dedication and optimism to tackling emerging security challenges.

Earlier in his address, General Officer Commanding One division and Commander sector 1, operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Abubakar Wase, charged the troops on the need for force protection.

The representative of the Army Chief also visited forward operating bases at Birnin Gwari, Tegina and Rijana respectively, where he interacted with troops.
