Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, has inspected Kilometre Zero of the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, describing the pace of work as commendable and reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to the project’s timely completion.
He was accompanied on the visit by the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, and the Executive Vice President (Gas, Power, and New Energy), Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye.
Speaking during the inspection, Ekpo noted that the AKK Pipeline, when completed, will unlock significant economic opportunities, enhance power generation, and accelerate industrialization across the country.
He described the project as a critical infrastructure that will strengthen Nigeria’s energy security and support long-term economic growth.
Engr. Ojulari, in his remarks, highlighted the strategic importance of the AKK Pipeline to national development, linking it to Nigeria’s industrial history and future aspirations.
He said the project underscores the role of natural gas as a transition fuel that will drive industrial revival and sustainable economic progress.
The visit, according to officials, further demonstrates the commitment of the Federal Government and NNPC Limited to delivering the AKK Gas Pipeline, a project considered vital to Nigeria’s economic transformation and energy future.
