Kaduna State Police Command has banned the use of knockouts and fireworks across the state in the interest of public safety and security.

The Command warns that any person found using or involved in the use of knockouts or fireworks, despite this ban, will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the law.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, advised the public to celebrate responsibly and to desist from any acts capable of causing panic before, during, and after the yuletide.

According to him, this measure is aimed at preventing criminals from exploiting such activities to perpetrate crimes, create panic, or disrupt public peace.

He said the Command has received credible intelligence from various sources indicating that some miscreants have already begun using knockouts, thereby disturbing residents and causing fear and panic within the community.
