Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has inspected the ongoing construction of the 108-kilometre Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road, a project awarded by his administration.

Speaking during the inspection in Maru Local Government Area, Governor Lawal said the visit to Dansadau was part of his administration’s commitment to delivering development to communities at the grassroots level.

According to the governor, Dansadau being the largest ward in Maru Local Government Area has suffered years of neglect by previous administrations, largely due to persistent insecurity in the area.

During the inspection tour, Governor Lawal passed through several communities, including Wanke, Magami, and Dan Gulbi.

Similarly, during a visit to the palace of the Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu, Governor Lawal assured residents of timely completion of the road project, the provision of reliable solar-powered electricity, and the installation of streetlights in Dansadau town.

He explained that the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau road project is designed to open up the area and stimulate socio-economic activities such as agriculture, livestock farming, trade, and the development of mineral resources with which the area is endowed.

In his response, the Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu, expressed joy and appreciation to the Governor for the laudable policies and development initiatives introduced by his government.

The Emir also conferred on Governor Dauda Lawal the traditional title of Garkuwan Dansadau.
