The Agwara Local Government Area of Niger state says it will continue to collaborate with Federal and the State Government to ensure the safety of lives and properties of its people, especially the most vulnerable.
Chairman of the Local Government, Alh Iliyasu Zakari stated this in a statement which he personally signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna, the Niger state capital.
Alh Iliyasu Zakari who maintained that the protection of lives and properties of its people remain the cardinal principle of his administration, also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser, Security Agencies and Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for their various roles in ensuring the release of one hundred abducted students of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Papiri.
Alh Iliyasu Zakari said, “We are profoundly grateful to President Tinubu, Governor Umar Bago, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and the brave men and women of our security agencies for their unwavering commitment to the safety of our children. Their swift action and dedication have brought relief to countless families in our community.”
The Chairman also called for continued prayers and support for the safe return of the remaining pupils and teachers who are still missing, stressing that “We remain hopeful that, with the same spirit of cooperation and vigilance, the remaining children and their teachers will be reunited with their families soon,” he added.
Alh Iliyasu Zakari however appealed to parents, Niger lites and Nigerians to remain calm as both the Federal and Niger state Government are working collectively with Security Agencies to ensure the release of remaining students and teachers in captivity in due course.
