Sultan of sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alh. Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Monday the fifteenth of March as the first day of the Islamic month of Shaaban,1442AH.
This was made known in a statement signed by the chairman advisoroy committee on religious affairs sultanate council, Prof. Sambo wali junaidu,wazirin sokoto.
The statement says this followed a report by the sultanate council advisory committee in conjunction with National moon sighting committee confirming the non sighting of the new moon across the country after the thirtieth of Rajab which marked the beginning of shaaban.
