2027 presidential hopeful and global businessman, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has paid a glowing tribute to the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing him as an extraordinary figure whose teachings and vast following significantly strengthened peace and unity across Nigeria.

In his condolence message, Hashim described the revered Islamic scholar as a man of deep devotion, uncommon knowledge, and unwavering commitment to national harmony, qualities that defined his decades long service to God and humanity.

Hashim noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s influence transcended Northern Nigeria, reaching millions of Muslims across the country and beyond. He said the Sheikh’s scholarship, moral discipline, and spiritual leadership provided guidance during some of Nigeria’s most challenging periods.

According to Hashim, the late cleric’s teachings were rooted in the timeless principles of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood, values urgently needed in a nation working to overcome divisions and heal old wounds.

“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a rallying force for unity,” Hashim said. “Through his Islamic teachings and the millions of peace-loving followers he inspired, he strengthened the foundations of a united Nigeria. His life was a testimony of humility, scholarship, and service.”

Hashim emphasized that Nigeria had lost more than a religious leader; it had lost a moral compass whose voice brought calm and direction in turbulent moments. He said the vacuum created by the Sheikh’s passing would be deeply felt by the Muslim Ummah and by all Nigerians who value peace.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late scholar, encouraging them to take pride in his extraordinary legacy of spiritual leadership and service. Hashim also commended the family for their unwavering support throughout the Sheikh’s lifelong mission of spreading knowledge and moral guidance.

Hashim further extended his sympathies to the Government and people of Bauchi State, describing the loss as a profound blow to the state and to Nigeria at large. He urged the government to honour the memory of the late Sheikh by promoting the peace building values he championed.

In a message to the global Tijjaniyya community, Hashim described the loss of the influential spiritual leader as a deeply painful moment, urging followers to remain united and steadfast in upholding the teachings of their guide.

He encouraged political and religious leaders across the country to draw inspiration from Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s lifelong devotion to moderation, tolerance, and bridge building, values he said were essential for strengthening Nigeria’s social cohesion and securing a more inclusive future.

Hashim concluded by praying to God to grant the Muslim Ummah, the Sheikh’s followers, and the entire nation the strength to bear this great loss. He expressed confidence that the late scholar’s legacy will continue to illuminate Nigeria’s path toward peace and unity for generations to come.
